Hello! Today i wanted to show the basic RolePlay Guide.
I know most of you will see that pretty obvious Guide but its made for begginers.
OOC & IC
So first we have to separate two different chat, the Out of character(OOC) chat and the In character(IC)
it is very easy to understand.
Here some examples what we can do in:
OOC chat:
-Ask about real persons name
-Ask about Skype or other IRL things
-Ask about how old are they
(Note! In OOC chat you always ask the real person that is using the keyboard not the character In game!)
IC chat:
-You can ask them about things in game like: Where do i find Ganton street?
-You can ask how old are someones character
-You can ask a character about a job for your charater
(Note! Your character don´t know other characters names until they introduce themselves!)
(Note! Remember IC always ask about things that are in game, do not ask about real life things. The real life things you can go ahead and ask in OOC)
(Note! everytime you write in IC end with a dot.)
/Me & /Do
Now when you have separated two chat types, it is time to learn how to use command /me and /do
me - you can use this command when you are doing something like:
/me is washing his car.
(it will look like this) James Jason is washing his car
/me punched the table with anger
(it will look like this) James Jason punched the table with anger
Note! you can use ** as the /me command in the middle of the text example:
James Jason: Screw you! *laughing* who do you think you are?
Note! do not spam at chat with /me messages it is better to write one long and be done with it
Note! in /me command you can use someones name, this will not affect the rule about Meta gaming(MG will be explained in a while, be patient)
an example of not breaking the MG rule: /me is giving Gustav Adolf a bright smile
an example of breaking the MG rule: Hello gustav adolf! *Bright smile* (If you know his name that will not break any rule because you know him, but if you don´t you are breaking MG rules.
/do - you can use this command to describe something around you or your character, something like:
/me throwed a ball
/do the ball is flying eight feet away from Jason and landing on a car
in do you can also ask like: Is Gustav wounded?
or: How does Gustavs wound look like?
and here the other person describes stuff.
Power & Meta Gaming
so now we go to explain basic Meta Gaming and Power Gaming
Power gaming examples:
-Playing a god like hero, no one can wound him etc
-Interact other players characters without them
-steel fist (destroying fences with bare fists)
Note! When you do something like: /me is knocking shit out of Gustav
you should ask him if the action was succesful in /do
do like: /me is hiting Gustav with a brick
and then /do succesful?
They can answer no, and give arguments why you failed.
but you can also give arguments why you should have sucessed.
Meta Gaming examples:
-you know other peoples names without asking them about it
-somebody tells you on skype that Wayne is selling drugs on Ganton
Note! On this one you can go to Ganton but you cant say from nowhere: Hey! Wayne, i want to buy some.
you can go to wayne and ask him what is hes name and what is he doing etc and then he maybe tells you that hes selling drugs then you can buy some.
